About me

My interest in yoga began in my mid-twenties. Because intense exercise was part of my career, I began using poses as a way of warming up and down. I found a stillness in my mind during this intense time and decided I wanted more.

I didn't have the confidence to enter a yoga class (why I don’t know!) but after a gentle encouragement I fell in love with the practise, it was what I had been missing and needed my whole life. It was then that I learned yoga wasn't about being the most flexible person in the room - there was no competition. I realised how yoga was very personal; it was considering and honouring what your body and soul need from that particular practice.

After that I really committed to yoga, it was my meditation and I found my close friends and family noticed a change in me. I found a connection to my deeper consciousness and began living a much fuller, healthier, happier life.

I trained as an instructor as I wanted to share my love of yoga and its many benefits. While I have found a spirituality in yoga, the changes in mindset through this practice affect us all. Yoga is for everybody; we all have different bodies and each posture can be adapted to suit you.

Yoga isn’t about Instagram poses (although doing tree pose on a tree is fun!) or being able to put your leg behind your head. Yoga for me is about finding balance, not necessarily trying to keep our balance in these funny poses but finding balance in ourselves and our lives. To help bring into perspective our feelings and how we nurture ourselves.

Yoga is not just the physical practise of stretching the body but a mental practise too. I endevour to bring a mindful element to your practise to help connect and bring balance to the mind and body.
